Description

Economic theory of pollution control; pollution control instruments including taxes, permits, direct regulation, and negotiation; environmental quality and international trade; the economics of global climate change; pollution control policy in practice; optimal use of exhaustible and renewable resources including fuels, minerals, fisheries, forests and water; resource scarcity and economic growth; valuation of non-marketed environmental amenities. Prereq: ECN 301 or 311.

Note: through the spring semester of 2011, this class was offered as a topic in ECN 410.
