Taury Smith, Senior Scientist at New York State Museum's Center for Stratigraphy and Paleontology in Albany, NY, will present a lecture entitled "Peak Oil: The End of the World As We Know It?", at 11 AM in room 210 of the Heroy Geology Laboratory.
Taury's primary research area is in integrated carbonate reservoir characterization, and he uses sequence stratigraphy, petrography, geochemistry, log and seismic analysis and other techniques to better understand oil and gas reservoirs of New York and around the world.
