The Sustainable Enterprise Partnership is proud to announce the
opportunity for SU and SUNY-ESF graduate students to earn an advanced
credential in sustainability. The recently announced Certificate of
Advanced Study in Sustainable Enterprise (CASSE) responds to the global
demand for professionals who are skilled in sustainability issues and
understand the economic, environmental, technical, and social dilemmas
presented by phenomena such as climate change, volatile energy prices,
and explosive growth in developing economies.  It is designed to be
relevant and accessible to a wide range of disciplines—*admission to the
program is available to all currently matriculated graduate students
at Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF*.

Developed through a unique cross-institutional collaboration, the CASSE
approach integrates business, science, engineering, policy, and
practice, and emphasizes transdisciplinary collaboration. The CASSE
curriculum will be delivered by expert faculty and researchers from the
Whitman School of Management, SUNY-ESF, the L.C. Smith College of
Engineering and Computer Science and the Syracuse Center of Excellence
in Environmental and Energy Systems.

CASSE candidates will be required to complete five courses: three core
courses and two electives.  The core courses are:

·         Managing Sustainability: Purpose, Principles, and Practice

·         Strategic Management and the Natural Environment

·         Sustainability-Driven Enterprise

Managing Sustainability: Purpose, Principles, and Practice (BUA/ECS
650) will be offered *Spring 2010*.  It may be taken as a stand-alone
elective, as well as the first course in the CASSE sequence.
