- David Popp has been named the recipient of the 2006 Moynihan Award. The Moynihan Award recognizes outstanding teaching, scholarship and service by Maxwell faculty who have not yet received tenure.

- CEPA Visitor Warwick McKibbin
- Warwick McKibbin of the Australian National University will be visiting CEPA from February 24th to March 14th. His research areas include international trade and finance, monetary and fiscal policy, international environmental policy, and demographics. He's also recently written a recent paper on the economic effects of a bird flu pandemic.

- Climate Change Conference Fellowships
- The British Council, an NGO sponsored by the UK Foreign Office, is offering travel fellowships to its November 2005 conference on "Climate Change and its Impact on Cities." Graduate students in the final year of their PhD program or recent PhDs are eligible to apply. The deadline is very soon: October 5, 2005.

- The deadline for pre-applications for the 2006 EPA STAR Graduate Fellowship program is October 18th. The program provides up to $37,000 per year to masters and doctoral students for a period of up to 3 years.
