CEPA Visitor - Xianjin Lai
Xianjin (Jin) Lai is a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Public Administration, Center for Environmental Policy and Administration of the Maxwell School. Jin’s research focuses on science, technology and public policy, specifically on energy technology innovation and climate change policy. He is a visiting PHD Candidate from the Graduate University at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and holds a BS in Public Administration from Sichuan University in Chengdu (2004).

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

The deadline for applications for the 2012 NSF Graduate Research Fellowship for social science students is November 16, 2011.

The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) provides Fellowships to individuals selected early in their graduate careers based on their demonstrated potential for significant achievements in science and engineering. Three years of support is provided by the program for graduate study that is in a field within NSF's mission and leads to a research-based master's or doctoral degree.

Fellowship applications and three reference letters must be submitted electronically using the NSF FastLane Graduate Research Fellowship Program Application Module at according to the Field of Study deadline. An applicant must first register as a FastLane user at that web site.

For each matriculated Fellow, the institution receives up to a $40,500 award per Fellow tenure year (12-month increments). For 2012, it is anticipated that the cost-of-education allowance will increase to $12,000, as indicated in the FY2012 Budget Request.

The Graduate Research Fellowship stipend is currently $30,000 for a 12-month tenure period, prorated in whole month increments of $2,500.
