Campus Network to be Down Night of Sat Oct 20

ITS is planning a complete network outage from 10pm Saturday 10/20 until 9am Sunday 10/21. The purpose of the outage is to install a backup power generator system in Machinery Hall to prevent unplanned outages due to power loss.

The net effect of this outage is that there will be no computer or network services available from SU for any users on or off campus during the outage window. This will affect every computer and every network service on campus including:

• Web browsing
  
• Email
  
• Peoplesoft
  
• File storage on AD or Novell

In addition, handheld devices connected to Exchange or GroupWise will not receive mail, as no email will flow to those devices during the outage.
